Project Management Excellence Lead - CapEx

Piper Companies is seeking a Project Management Excellence Lead - CapEx to support a large-scale capital expansion program within the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. The Project Management Excellence Lead - CapEx will play a critical role in establishing project governance, project controls, and execution frameworks to support a multi-site program through the Basic Design phase and beyond. The Project Management Excellence Lead - CapEx is a 6 month contract with likelihood to extend.

Responsibilities of the Project Management Excellence Lead - CapEx:

    • Lead the development and implementation of project management governance standards, stage-gate frameworks, meeting structures, QA programs, and project execution methodologies for a large capital program.

    • Drive readiness activities for executive stage-gate reviews, including maturity assessments, governance documentation, audit support, corrective action tracking, and stakeholder alignment.

    • Update and align Program Execution Plans (PEPs) and Project Execution Plans with project objectives, enterprise standards, engineering strategies, procurement plans, financial requirements, and organizational goals.

    • Establish project controls frameworks including KPI reporting, cost and schedule management, risk and change control processes, SAP WBS structures, and project performance dashboards.

    • Support implementation and optimization of project controls technologies including Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC), Oracle Unifier, SAP PS/WBS, Power BI, and related reporting tools.

    • Partner with Engineering, Procurement, Finance, HR, IT, and Program Leadership teams to implement scalable project management processes, provide training, and drive adoption across the organization.

Requirements of the Project Management Excellence Lead - CapEx:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

    • 10+ years of experience supporting large capital projects valued at $200M+ within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, manufacturing, or industrial environments.

    • Strong expertise in project governance, stage-gate methodologies, project controls, project execution planning, risk management, scheduling, and change management.

    • Hands-on experience with Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC), Oracle Unifier, SAP PS/WBS, Power BI, or comparable project controls and reporting platforms.

    • PMP, PRINCE2, AACE CCP, PSP, or similar project management certifications are highly preferred.

    • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and drive process implementation within complex project environments.

Compensation for the Project Management Excellence Lead - CapEx:

    • $200,000 -$290,000
