Sr. SW Test Engineer (TS/SCI w/Poly)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to support the modernization of a critical government information system. This is a hybrid opportunity supporting a federal program in Annapolis Junction, MD or Reston, VA. The Senior Software Test Engineer will focus on UI testing, backend troubleshooting, test automation, and compliance validation across enterprise applications.

Senior Software Test Engineer - Location(s): Annapolis Junction, MD / Reston, VA (Hybrid)

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Test Engineer include:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, regression testing procedures, and defect management activities.
• Perform UI validation, cross-browser testing, accessibility testing, and Section 508/WCAG compliance verification.
• Review application and server logs to identify root causes of defects and troubleshoot system issues.
• Execute API testing and SQL-based database validation to ensure application functionality and data integrity.
• Develop automated UI testing frameworks and integrate testing processes into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications for the Senior Software Test Engineer include:

• 18+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Strong experience with functional, regression, UI, and cross-browser testing of web applications.
• Experience reviewing backend logs and troubleshooting application or system failures.
• Hands-on experience with SQL for database validation and data verification.
• Experience with system installation, configuration, and integration activities.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD environments.
• Strong technical documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred experience with Apache Tomcat, Oracle 19c, Solr, SAP Business Intelligence, Windows Server environments, RESTful API testing, and GitLab CI/CD.

Compensation for the Senior Software Test Engineer includes:

• $180,000 - $250,000 (depending on experience)
