Piper Companies is seeking an Junior Firmware Engineer to sit onsite in RTP NC to join a leading technology organization focused on advanced networking and embedded systems solutions. The Junior Firmware Engineer will contribute to the development of low-level software for next-generation hardware platforms, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality, reliable products. This opportunity is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to build expertise in firmware, embedded development, and system-level software design.
Responsibilities of the Junior Firmware Engineer:
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot embedded software for networking and hardware-based products.
- Participate in software reviews and contribute to code quality, performance, and maintainability improvements.
- Create and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests to validate functionality and reliability.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and validation teams to support product development and integration efforts.
- Document software designs, technical specifications, testing procedures, and development activities.
Qualifications of the Junior Firmware Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of related experience or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming experience with C in an embedded systems environment.
- Knowledge of embedded software architecture, RTOS concepts, and debugging methodologies.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals and common communication protocols.
