Remote Senior Frontend Developer -

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to support a high-visibility software modernization initiative. The Senior Frontend Developer will transform legacy Excel-based workflows into modern, scalable web applications while developing data-intensive user interfaces and supporting enterprise search capabilities. This position is fully remote and requires candidates to work East Coast (EST) hours!

Responsibilities of the Senior Frontend Developer:

• Develop responsive, modern web applications supporting enterprise search and data-driven platforms
• Build intuitive web-based user interfaces to replace legacy Excel-based workflows
• Design and develop reusable React components and scalable frontend architecture
• Integrate frontend applications with FastAPI backend services and RESTful APIs
• Build interactive data visualization components supporting financial positions, trading activity, equity data, and other complex datasets
• Collaborate with backend developers to design, consume, troubleshoot, and optimize APIs
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, application performance, and scalability
• Write clean, maintainable, testable, and well-documented code following software engineering best practices
• Troubleshoot and debug complex application issues across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers
• Utilize Python and command-line tools to investigate application behavior and resolve technical issues
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support application functionality, data analysis, and troubleshooting
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, code reviews, and retrospectives
• Contribute to application architecture, technical design discussions, code reviews, and continuous process improvements
• Partner with development, data, and engineering teams throughout application modernization initiatives

Qualifications for the Senior Frontend Developer:

• Strong hands-on React development experience, including component architecture, state management, hooks, and lifecycle concepts
• Advanced Python development experience with strong command-line proficiency
• Strong SQL experience, including complex queries, joins, data analysis, and database interaction
• Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and FastAPI services
• Experience developing responsive, data-intensive web applications
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern ES6+ development
• Experience building reusable frontend components and scalable application architectures
• Strong application troubleshooting and debugging experience across frontend and backend environments
• Experience using Linux, Bash, CLI, or similar command-line environments
• Strong understanding of Git version control and collaborative software development workflows
• Experience working within Agile software development environments
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing financial services, trading, analytics, or other data-intensive applications
• Experience developing interactive data visualization capabilities
• Experience modernizing legacy Excel-based or desktop workflows into web applications
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar relational databases
• Experience supporting enterprise search applications or platforms
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or AI-enabled application integrations
• Experience contributing to frontend architecture and application modernization initiatives
• Experience working within complex enterprise application environments

Compensation for the Senior Frontend Developer includes:

• Salary: $150,000 - $165,000
