Piper Companies is hiring an SRE- Platform Engineering for a Cloud and Technology company. The SRE- Platform Engineering will support the development and operation of our Kubernetes-based platform in regulated environments. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers and technical leaders to improve reliability, scalability, and compliance across the platform. The SRE- Platform Engineering role is a remote position.
Responsibilities of the SRE- Platform Engineering Include:
- Build, maintain, and support Kubernetes clusters across on-premises and AWS environments, ensuring platform reliability, scalability, and operational stability in FedRAMP High and IL5 environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance through observability, alerting, incident response, and participation in on-call rotations.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools) to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, security teams, and application teams to implement platform enhancements, support compliance requirements, and deliver secure, reliable infrastructure services.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and operational tooling while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the platform.
- Assist in defining and tracking reliability metrics, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, while helping improve platform resiliency, maintainability, and customer experience.
Qualifications of the SRE- Platform Engineering include:
- 4-6 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations roles.
- Strong hands-on experience managing and supporting Kubernetes clusters in production environments, including on-premises infrastructure and AWS-based deployments.
- Solid Linux administration skills with experience building, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux-based systems in enterprise environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies, along with exposure to CI/CD and deployment automation practices.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Go, Ruby, or other object-oriented programming languages; experience supporting Ruby-based applications is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, containerization, observability tools, and operational best practices; experience with FedRAMP High, DoD IL5, ArgoCD, regulated environments, or compliance-driven systems is preferred.
Compensation for the SRE- Platform Engineering include:
- $120,000-$160,000
