Piper Companies is hiring a Technical Certification Engineer for a Cloud and Technology company located in Morrisville, NC. The Technical Certification Engineer will be the technical bridge between our product development teams and the global regulatory labs, ensuring that our cutting-edge networking hardware and software meet all necessary international compliance requirements. The Technical Certification Engineer role is a remote position located within the Eastern Time Zone.


Responsibilities of the Technical Certification Engineer Include:


  • Lead and manage product compliance and certification initiatives, ensuring adherence to CE Marking requirements, EU Directives (EMC, LVD, RED, RoHS), and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate certification activities with external test laboratories and internal cross-functional teams to drive successful and timely product approvals.
  • Oversee multiple compliance and certification projects simultaneously, developing project plans, tracking milestones, mitigating risks, and ensuring on-time delivery in a remote environment.
  • Analyze and interpret regulatory, cybersecurity, and certification requirements, including Common Criteria (CC), FIPS, CRA, and cloud compliance frameworks, and translate them into actionable engineering and product requirements.
  • Develop compliance documentation, engineering reports, and stakeholder communications while serving as a trusted advisor to technical and non-technical teams; champion the use of AI and emerging technologies to improve compliance processes and operational efficiency.


Qualifications of the Technical Certification Engineer include:


  • Ability to work in the U.S. with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, with a strong technical foundation in networking hardware and software.
  • Deep expertise in regulatory compliance and product certifications, including CE Marking, EU Directives (EMC, LVD, RED, RoHS), and experience managing certification efforts with external test laboratories.
  • Strong project management experience with the ability to lead and manage multiple compliance and certification projects simultaneously in a fast-paced remote environment.
  • Working knowledge of Common Criteria (CC), FIPS, CRA, cloud compliance frameworks, or related cybersecurity certification programs, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory standards and apply them to product architectures.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and technical writing skills, with the ability to translate compliance requirements for cross-functional stakeholders; and enthusiastic about leveraging AI and emerging technologies.


Compensation for the Technical Certification Engineer include:


  • $90,000-$110,000
  • Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law
