Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an HVAC Engineer to support a U.S. Navy program in Orlando, FL. The team is seeking an experienced engineer to design and test heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to support the construction of critical Naval vessels. Details below:


Location: Orlando, FL (100% onsite)

Responsibilities of the HVAC Engineer:   


  • Design and support the development of chilled-water HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, or specialized applications.
  • Assist in HVAC system design activities involving hydronic/chilled-water cooling systems and forced-air distribution networks.
  • Create, review, update, and modify HVAC system designs, layouts, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks, Revit, and other applicable design software.
  • Support HVAC design verification and validation efforts through analysis, testing, and performance assessments.
  • Apply sound HVAC engineering principles, industry best practices, and relevant ASHRAE standards to ensure compliant and effective system designs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate HVAC requirements with overall mechanical, electrical, structural, and systems design objectives.
  • Develop and review engineering calculations, specifications, technical reports, and design documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise throughout the HVAC system design, development, and testing lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and problem-resolution activities to address engineering challenges and ensure project success.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause investigations related to HVAC system performance during testing and validation phases.
  • Ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulatory and industry guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, drawings, test results, and configuration-controlled documentation.


Qualifications of the HVAC Engineer:  


  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of HVAC engineering experience
  • Experience with HVAC engineering including system design and testing
  • Proficiency working in CAD design environment
  • Experience using SolidWorks or Revit design software
  • Familiar with ASHRAE standards
  • Experience supporting Naval/Military Industrial environments

Compensation of the HVAC Engineer:  


  • Total compensation based on experience level - $130,000-$150,000 **based on experience level**
  • Full Benefits: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, and Vision, 401k
  • Long-term contract (7+ years)
