Business Analyst

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a technology and engineering consulting firm that delivers digital transformation, software development, systems integration, and advanced engineering solutions for federal government and defense customers. This is a REMOTE position in and requires an active Top Secret or DHS clearance*

The Business Analyst will play a key role in ensuring successful product delivery through all stages of the software development lifecycle. In this role, you will support product owners by eliciting and refining requirements, developers by validating business needs are met, and end-users by supporting production use.

Responsibilities of the Business Analyst:

• Work with stakeholders, business users, and technical SMEs to gather and refine requirements.
• Document requirements as user stories with acceptance criterion.
• Develop and execute manual test cases to validate functionality aligns with acceptance criterion.
• Contribute to program deliverables, including weekly status reports, monthly progress reports, and stakeholder briefings.
• Document release notes and product documentation.
• Work in a scrum team using the agile method.

Qualifications for the Business Analyst:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or other related discipline alongside a minimum of 3 years as a Business Analyst or similar role.
• Experience working with stakeholders, business users, and technical SMEs to gather and refine requirements.
• Experience in documenting requirements in user story format.
• Experience writing functional tests, executing tests, and documenting results.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Strong communication skills to interact with technical teams and government stakeholders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Active Top Secret or DHS clearance.

Compensation for the Business Analyst:

• Salary Range: $120,000 - $135,000 *depending on experience*
