Quality Assurance Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support a government-focused intelligence and IT modernization program responsible for delivering enterprise applications, data solutions, and mission-critical infrastructure services. This position is hybrid (remote 1- 2 days a week)and on-site in Reston, VA. The Quality Assurance Engineer will lead the modernization, enhancement, and support of enterprise Java and Python applications while maintaining critical cloud and IT infrastructure components in a secure environment.

Responsibilities for the Senior Java Developer include:

• Develop, maintain, and modernize enterprise Java and Python applications supporting mission-critical government systems.
• Upgrade, administer, and optimize Apache Solr environments, including Zookeeper clusters, version upgrades, and index migrations.
• Deploy, configure, and support applications within Apache Tomcat environments and integrate with Oracle 19c databases.
• Support SAP Business Intelligence reporting frameworks and directory service integrations using Apache Directory Studio.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, database, security, and business teams to troubleshoot issues, improve system performance, and ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Engineer include:

• 13+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, information technology, or a related technical field.
• Expert-level experience with Enterprise Java development and strong hands-on Python development experience.
• Extensive experience with Apache Solr, Zookeeper, Apache Tomcat, Oracle 19c, Windows-based VMware environments, and secure coding practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and documentation skills.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for 4 years of experience; Master's degree may substitute for 6 years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required; CI Polygraph preferred.

Compensation for the Senior Java Developer include:

• Salary Range: $135,000 - 195,000+ depending on experience
