Quality Assurance Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support a federal partner modernizing mission-critical government information systems. This position is hybrid/telework available in Annapolis Junction, MD; Washington, DC; or Reston, VA. This is a contract opportunity supporting a national leader in secure systems modernization and enterprise application transformation.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will support the testing, validation, and quality assurance of enterprise applications undergoing major technology upgrades. This individual will ensure system reliability, security, accessibility, and performance through comprehensive manual and automated testing activities across complex government environments.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Engineer include:

·      Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression testing strategies for application enhancements and modernization efforts.

·      Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing of Java-based web applications.

·      Validate user interfaces, conduct cross-browser compatibility testing, and ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.

·      Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and integrate automated test suites into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

·      Execute API testing for RESTful services and Apache Solr integrations while validating enterprise system functionality.

·      Test and validate Apache Tomcat deployments, Oracle 19c database integrations, and SAP Business Intelligence reporting solutions.

·      Document defects, quality metrics, test results, and release readiness while collaborating with developers, analysts, security teams, and system administrators.

Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Engineer include:

·      13+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Software Quality Assurance, or a related field; a Bachelor's degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience, and a Master's degree may substitute for up to 6 years of experience.

·      Experience performing functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications and enterprise software solutions.

·      Hands-on experience with UI validation, cross-browser testing, manual testing methodologies, and test automation frameworks.

·      Experience conducting accessibility testing in accordance with Section 508 and WCAG requirements.

·      Knowledge of RESTful API testing, Apache Solr, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Apache Tomcat, Oracle 19c, and Windows Server environments.

·      Experience with defect tracking systems, quality assurance documentation, and testing enterprise integrations.

·      Active TS/SCI clearance

Compensation for the Quality Assurance Engineer includes:

·      Salary Range: $170,000 - $190,000 based on experience
