Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a cleared Program Manager to support the U.S. Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) in El Segundo, CA. This role will lead complex systems acquisition efforts within the Space Combat Power portfolio, supporting the development and delivery of next-generation space capabilities.
As an embedded member of the Government team, you will apply advanced program management and acquisition expertise to drive strategic planning, program execution, risk mitigation, financial oversight, and mission integration activities. This position plays a critical role in advancing rapid capability development through the Warfighting Acquisition System (WAS) framework while coordinating efforts across space, ground, and mission segments.
Responsibilities of the Program Manager:
- Support the Government Program Manager in shaping acquisition strategies, program schedules, contracting actions, budget planning, and resource allocation to achieve mission objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of program execution, including technical performance, delivery milestones, testing activities, system integration, contractor performance, and risk management.
- Drive cross-functional communication and coordination between government and contractor teams to ensure successful integration across space, ground, and communications segments.
- Plan, organize, and execute Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), staff meetings, and program reviews to assess progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Apply configuration and change management best practices to maintain consistency and traceability across program documentation, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), performance goals, and milestone deliverables.
- Evaluate contractor system designs, milestone reviews, and technical program progress while assessing risks and mission impacts.
- Coordinate independent technical and programmatic reviews to validate system effectiveness and mission readiness.
- Provide expert guidance regarding funding commitments, obligations, expenditures, and budget execution to ensure efficient use of program resources.
- Support rapid capability fielding initiatives by advocating for deliberate risk-taking, streamlined decision-making, and adherence to the Warfighting Acquisition System (WAS) philosophy.
- Develop and deliver executive-level reports, briefings, and program documentation for government leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications of the Program Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree and fifteen (15) or more years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree and thirteen (13) or more years of relevant experience.
- Must possess an in-scope Tier 5 (T5) or Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility, and be enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation Program (if applicable).
- Must be willing to obtain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP), and consent to a Polygraph examination.
- Demonstrated Program Management and leadership experience supporting complex systems programs.
- Experience leading Aerospace or DoD programs involving coordination between space and ground segment organizations to ensure end-to-end mission performance.
- Experience managing performance-based government contracts, including cost, schedule, risk, and technical performance management.
- Experience supporting Air Force and/or Department of Defense acquisition programs involving space and ground systems.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing program baselines, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
- Strong experience preparing and delivering technical documentation, reports, and executive briefings.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups and dynamic teams.
Compensation of the Program Manager:
- Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000+ **based on experience, qualifications, and leadership expertise**
