ISSO

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an ISSO to support a company focused on cybersecurity operations, engineering, and compliance for federal government clients, including the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This position is on-site at Washington, DC. The ISSO will oversee system security authorization efforts, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards and successful ATO outcomes.

Responsibilities for the ISSO include:

• Lead Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities, including ATO lifecycle management and POA&M tracking
• Ensure compliance with DOE/NNSA cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and federal regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA)
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability testing, and provide remediation guidance to strengthen system security posture
• Manage security documentation, configuration management, and system access controls for assigned systems
• Support incident response efforts, develop security policies, and deliver cybersecurity training to stakeholders

Required Qualifications for the ISSO include:

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on ISSO or A&A support
• Experience with NIST RMF, DOE/NNSA frameworks, vulnerability management tools, and security documentation processes
• Strong skills in risk management, incident response, compliance, and stakeholder communication
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Active DOE Q clearance OR Top Secret clearance

Compensation for the ISSO include:

• Salary Range: $170,000/year depending on experience
