Systems Administrator

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an onsite Systems Administrator to join an air force communications program in Rome, New York. The systems administrator will work within a growing IT team to support a mission-critical communications infrastructure project.

Responsibilities of the Systems Administrator Includes:

• Manage and maintain enterprise servers, operating systems, and core infrastructure components
• Monitor system health, identify performance issues, and resolve technical incidents
• Enforce security protocols and maintain system integrity across environments
• Oversee user access, permissions, and system backups/recovery processes
• Develop scripts to automate and streamline system administration and operational tasks

Qualifications of the Systems Administrator Includes:

• 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or similar roles
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong understanding of Windows and/or Linux environments, along with networking fundamentals (such as DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, etc.)
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
• Security+, Security X, CASP, or equivalent IAT Level II certification 
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance

Compensation of the Systems Administrator Includes:

• Salary Range: 80,000-90,000
