Systems Administrator

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to support a mission-focused program based in Rome, New York. This position is a full-time onsite role. This position is critical in maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable system performance, and supporting secure operations across enterprise environments. As a Systems Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in system maintenance, network support, and operational continuity within a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Windows and/or Linux systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Manage and support networking infrastructure, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Configure, monitor, and maintain virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate system processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and application issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integrations and deployments.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements as needed.
• Ensure systems comply with security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and team members.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3–5 years of experience in system administration
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows and/or Linux)
• In-depth knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Active Secret Clearance
• Security+

Compensation to include:

• Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 *based on experience*
• Full Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if Required by Law
