Application Developer (TS/SCI)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking Application Developers to support an Intelligence program in Herndon, VA. We are seeking skilled developers to support front-end, back-end, and devsecops practices for web applications used to gather and produce geospatial intelligence for a critical agency. Details below: 

Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

Location: Herndon, VA (100% onsite)

Responsibilities:  

·      Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications in accordance with established development standards and best practices.

·      Apply structured development methodologies across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

·      Develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code using Java and integrate XML-based data structures where required.

·      Implement and support integration of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) solutions within existing systems.

·      Work across heterogeneous environments, including Linux and Windows operating systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and performance.

·      Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects, system issues, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.

·      Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for software design, code, testing, and deployment processes.

·      Ensure compliance with organizational software development standards, policies, and security guidelines.

·      Collaborate with system users, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet mission needs.

Qualifications: 

· Bachelors degree from accredited university and 3-10 years of software engineering experience

· Active TS/SCI clearance

·      Strong experience in Java application development.

·      Proficiency in working with XML and related data formats.

·      Experience integrating and maintaining COTS and FOSS solutions.

·      Hands-on experience supporting applications in multi-platform environments (Linux and Windows).

·      Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies.

·      Experience with secure or classified environments and mission-focused systems.

·      Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and modern development tools.

·      Exposure to Agile or DevOps practices.

·      Knowledge of web services, APIs, or service-oriented architectures.

Compensation:  

·      Total compensation based on experience level - $150,000 - $190,000+
