Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to support our client located in Washington, DC. The Network Engineer will design, integrate, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites, including newly acquired environments. This role supports infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure connectivity across the organization.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer include:

·      Assess networks, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless environments for newly integrated sites and develop alignment plans

·      Design and maintain LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and VPN architectures for performance and uptime

·      Collaborate with third-party MSPs to manage firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and access controls

·      Integrate Active Directory environments, ensuring secure authentication and connectivity across domains

·      Monitor network performance, respond to incidents, and conduct root-cause analysis

·      Evaluate vendors, ISPs, and network solutions to improve reliability and scalability

·      Develop documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures

Qualifications for the Network Engineer include:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

·      5+ years of experience managing enterprise networks in multi-site environments

·      Experience integrating networks during acquisitions or major infrastructure transitions

·      Strong knowledge of networking principles (OSI model), routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless

·      Experience with network monitoring tools and enterprise security controls

·      Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)

·      Ability to lead projects, manage timelines, and communicate across cross-functional teams

Compensation for the Network Engineer includes:

·      Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 depending on experience
