Forward Deployed Engineer

*Active Secret Clearance and willingness for occasional travel required*

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to support customer deployments of a GenAI platform, primarily within federal and government environments. This position is a full‑time role and can be done fully remote with preference to Washington, DC area candidates. This role is critical in ensuring the successful integration, deployment, and adoption of advanced AI capabilities into customer business processes. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will serve as a technical bridge between customers, sales engineering, and product teams—rapidly turning ideas into production‑caliber solutions while working directly with stakeholders across government and industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with customers to integrate the GenAI platform into existing business processes and workflows.
• Build new functionalities and enhancements within the platform to meet customer‑specific requirements.
• Lead successful deployment and initial configuration of the platform, providing hands‑on support for 60–180 days post‑sale before transitioning to a long‑term project team.
• Engage directly with customers through onsite, hybrid, or remote engagements based on customer needs.
• Conduct proof‑of‑concept demonstrations to showcase the product's capabilities and value to prospective and existing customers.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the product's technical capabilities and limitations to guide solution design.
• Provide technical consulting, guidance, and support throughout integration and deployment phases.
• Rapidly develop and iterate on new features in or around the product's core platform based on customer feedback.
• Collaborate closely with the core product and engineering teams to integrate new capabilities into the platform.
• Document customer requirements, feedback, and deployment outcomes to support continuous product improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve deployment and integration issues, delivering timely and effective solutions.
• Travel occasionally to customer locations across the United States as project requirements dictate.
• Partner with internal teams including product management, engineering, and support to deliver seamless customer outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance
• Advanced proficiency in Python
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL
• Hands‑on experience applying LLMs, NLP, and related AI technologies to real‑world problems
• Proven experience with MEAN Stack development and full‑stack development using TypeScript
• Experience building web applications with Angular
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines, specifically GitLab
• Familiarity with cloud deployment models, particularly AWS GovCloud, and experience working in DoD or federal environments
• Demonstrated ability to integrate software solutions with existing business processes and external APIs
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and secure development principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage senior government and industry leaders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment
• Willingness and availability for occasional travel within the United States

Compensation:

• Salary Range: $140,000 - $210,000 *based on experience*
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, and Sick Leave (as required by law)
