Piper Companies is seeking a Sr Loyalty Operations & Controls Specialist to join a leading financial institution based in Tysons, VA. The Sr Loyalty Operations & Controls Specialist will play a key role in building and managing the operational infrastructure, controls environment, and risk framework for an enterprise-wide member rewards program. This position is hybrid, requiring 2–3 days per week onsite in Tysons, VA.
Responsibilities of the Sr Loyalty Operations & Controls Specialist include:
• Build and maintain the operating model for the loyalty program, including workflows, SLAs, and service processes
• Oversee day-to-day operations including points issuance/redemption, partner file exchanges, disputes, and exception handling
• Partner with Technology teams to support system implementation, UAT, and ongoing operational monitoring
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to track operational performance, accuracy, and service levels
• Design and maintain control frameworks including reconciliations, automated checks, and risk indicators
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, privacy standards, and audit requirements
• Lead risk assessments, identify control gaps, and drive remediation efforts
• Manage vendor and partner relationships, including onboarding, integration, and performance monitoring
• Partner with Member Services to improve customer experience, escalations, and issue resolution processes
• Oversee data integrity and financial governance, including points lifecycle, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy
Qualifications for the Sr Loyalty Operations & Controls Specialist include:
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in operations, risk, compliance, audit, or controls within financial services, fintech, or payments
• Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks and regulatory expectations
• Experience building and managing scalable processes and operational models
• Experience with data integrity, reconciliation processes, and financial controls
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives across business and technical teams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with loyalty, rewards, or credit card programs
• Experience with Salesforce, including Salesforce Loyalty Cloud
• Experience with SQL and Snowflake
• Background in vendor management or third-party risk
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Familiarity with AI tools and technologies
Compensation for the Sr Loyalty Operations & Controls Specialist includes:
• Salary: $120,000 – $145,000 (depending on experience)
