Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to support our client in Bethesda, MD. The Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) will design, build, and operate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure supporting enterprise IT workloads and modern application platforms, partnering closely with security, operations, and application development teams.

Responsibilities of the Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer include:

·      Design, deploy, and operate Microsoft Azure infrastructure including compute, storage, backup, and disaster recovery services

·      Own reliability, performance, monitoring, and lifecycle management of production Azure environments

·      Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or equivalent frameworks

·      Design and maintain secure Azure networking architectures including hub-and-spoke models, Private Link, and Private Endpoints

·      Implement and test backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery

·      Support modern application platforms by enabling secure app-to-service communication and CI/CD-aligned infrastructure

·      Collaborate with security, IT operations, and application teams during architecture reviews, incidents, and planned changes

Qualifications for the Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer include:

·      7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering roles

·      Strong hands-on experience designing and operating Microsoft Azure environments

·      Experience supporting production cloud infrastructure at enterprise scale

·      Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity concepts

·      Experience implementing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions

·      Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and networking

·      Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environment

Compensation for the Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer includes:

·      Salary Range: $170,000-$185,000 depending on experience
