Network Communications Administrator (Secret Clearance)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Communications Administrator to support a DoD mission for Navy/Marine Corp in Chicago, IL. We are seeking individuals with skills across network troubleshooting, LAN/WAN administration, and integration and test to support a Global Navy Marine Corps operation. 

Clearance: Secret clearance

Location: Chicago, IL

Responsibilities: 

·      Assess, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware and software, resolving issues across Local Area Networks (LAN), Base Area Networks (BAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and related network infrastructures.

·      Administer, monitor, and optimize LAN/BAN/WAN environments to ensure reliability, security, and optimal performance.

·      Plan, schedule, and execute network conversions, upgrades, and cutovers with minimal disruption to operations.

·      Coordinate closely with system owners, end users, and multiple sites to support network initiatives and resolve technical issues.

·      Apply specialized expertise in network performance tuning and configuration, including the integration, testing, and validation of complex, large-scale, computer-integrated network systems.

Qualifications: 

·      Active Secret Clearance

·      Bachelors and 1-2+ years or 3+ years of IT experience supporting network communication equipment in lieu of a degree

·      Certifications: IAT II required (Sec+ or higher), CCNA (must be able to obtain prior to start date)

·      Experience with Layer2/3 troubleshooting

·      Familiarity with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)

·      Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN WAN maintenance, performance management

·      Expertise in the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, multiplexing, spanning tree protocol, DSN/DRSN, GVS, Promina, CISCO, MSPP, Optical Switching.

·      Experience administering communications/VOIP/VTC

Compensation:

·      Total compensation based on experience level - $60,000-$70,000
