Systems Administrator

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a company focused on delivering secure, mission‑critical IT operations in support of federal government customers. This position is on-site at Falls Church, VA. The Systems Administrator will support a 24x7x365 IT Operations environment by administering, maintaining, and securing enterprise IT infrastructure while ensuring operational continuity and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities for the Systems Administrator include:

• Supporting a 24x7x365 IT Operations environment and participating in cross-functional IT operations teams
• Administering and maintaining Windows and Linux systems, virtualization platforms, storage, and network infrastructure
• Monitoring system performance and resolving incidents and service requests using ServiceNow and ITSM best practices
• Managing Active Directory, user access, patch management, and core IT services
• Implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls in compliance with DoD and organizational security standards

Required Qualifications for the Systems Administrator include:

• 3+ years of experience in System Administration and/or IT Operations environments
• Required Technologies:
  • ServiceNow ticketing systems
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Active Directory administration
  • Linux systems and Cisco networking
  • Windows 10 and Microsoft Office
• Required Skills:
  • Virtualization, patch management, and network security principles
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ITIL-aligned environment
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical job requirements
• Required Education & Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active IAT Level II certification required at start date
  • Ability to obtain a computing environment certification (e.g., ITIL 4, CySA+) within six months of hire
• Required Clearance:
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance required on day one

Compensation for the Systems Administrator include:

• Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000 *depending on experience*
• Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick leave as required by law
