Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Strategic Communications Lead to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the Joint Operational Medicine Information Systems (JOMIS) program. This is a full-time role supporting a high-visibility federal health IT mission. This position is critical to advancing DHA mission outcomes by driving executive-level communications, stakeholder alignment, and transformational change across DHMS and external partners. As the Strategic Communications Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping program narratives, overseeing strategic communications operations, and enabling senior leaders to make informed decisions through clear, compelling executive materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted strategic communications partner to the JOMIS Program Manager, Stakeholder Engagement Divisional Lead, and senior program leadership.
- Develop and deliver executive-level briefing materials, including PowerPoint presentations, memos, talking points, and written narratives for internal DHMS and external government audiences.
- Translate complex technical and operational topics (e.g., product rollouts, new capabilities, deployment plans, and future roadmaps) into clear, concise, executive-ready communications.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of a Strategic Communications team of 2+ resources, including task prioritization, workload management, and quality assurance.
- Coordinate and facilitate review cycles of briefing materials with multiple government stakeholders to gain alignment and approval.
- Add structure to executive briefing intake processes and large forums to support program transformation objectives.
- Proactively develop cohesive and persuasive narratives that communicate progress, risks, and priorities to senior stakeholders.
- Track progress across multiple workstreams and guide prioritization to ensure timely delivery of high-quality communications.
- Ensure resources are appropriately allocated to meet mission priorities, identifying trade-offs as needed.
- Create templates and standardized processes to improve consistency and efficiency across the JOMIS communications function.
- Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving sessions related to strategic priorities.
- Engage with external government and industry stakeholders to convey key messages and set expectations.
Requirements:
- Ability to obtain US Public Trust
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Strategy and/or Communications, preferably supporting Federal Government customers (DoD experience strongly preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of people management or team leadership experience.
- Educational background in strategy, business management, or communications preferred.
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) a plus.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, with demonstrated ability to craft cohesive executive narratives.
- Experience using DoD-approved generative AI tools to support outline development for executive briefings.
Compensation to include:
- Salary Range: $165,000 – $180,000 **depending on experience**
