Sr. Systems Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to support the building of force-multiplying aircraft. As part of our team you’ll work closely with other teams and industry partners to help design, integrate, and field architectures and vehicle designs to keep our country on the leading edge of defense technologies. Responsibilities:

• Support/lead system architecture development and decomposition using MBSE (SysML/Cameo) to define interfaces, functions, and allocation across multiple domains
• Support/lead cross-functional engineering teams in developing systems to meet program commitments, including support of design reviews
• Support/lead the program in implementing MBSE as part of broad digital engineering ecosystem
• Support/lead Systems Engineering efforts such as requirements decomposition, system architecture, system analysis, specification development, trade studies, program planning, interfaces management, risk management, certification planning & execution, verification & test planning, and overall integration and capture them in the MBSE model as appropriate
• This position is expected to be 100% on-site. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance for consideration (can hold Top Secret)
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 5 - 12 years of work-related engineering experience
• Prior Systems Engineering experience to include but not limited to system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation
• Experience with MBSE, Cameo/MSOSA, and/or SysML

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Engineering discipline
• Demonstrated experience developing system architectures for complex aerospace vehicles or subsystems using MBSE (SysML/MSOSA)
• Prior leadership in system architecture or lead systems engineering roles; experience communicating architectural tradeoffs to stakeholders and customers
• Understanding of various engineering analyses, including affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
• Familiarity with aircraft/flight systems and domain-specific engineering (ME, EE, SW) to evaluate integration impacts.

Compensation Includes:

• $140,000 - $200,000 *Depending on Labor Category Placement/years of experience*
