Forward Deployed Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to support our client. This position is hybrid or remote within the DMV area. The Forward Deployed Engineer will work as part of a Sales Engineering team, engaging directly with customers to deploy, configure, and extend a GenAI platform while rapidly translating customer needs into production-grade software.

Responsibilities of the Forward Deployed Engineer include:

·      Integrate a GenAI platform into existing customer business processes and technical environments

·      Build customer-specific features, enhancements, and integrations in Python and TypeScript

·      Deploy and configure the platform, providing hands-on support for 60–180 days post-sale before transition to a long-term delivery team

·      Conduct proof-of-concept demonstrations to validate platform value and technical fit

·      Collaborate with product and engineering teams to upstream new capabilities into the core platform

·      Troubleshoot deployment and integration issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers

·      Document customer requirements, feedback, and technical decisions to support continuous improvement

Qualifications for the Forward Deployed Engineer include:

·      Active Secret clearance

·      Advanced proficiency in Python and backend development

·      Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and data-driven applications

·      Hands-on experience with LLMs, NLP, and applied AI solutions

·      Full-stack development experience with the MEAN stack, TypeScript, and Angular

·      Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and GitLab

·      Familiarity with AWS GovCloud and deployment in DoD or federal environments

·      Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycle and API integrations

·      Excellent communication skills with the ability to brief technical and non-technical stakeholders

Compensation for the Forward Deployed Engineer includes:

·      Salary Range: $155,000-$200,000 depending on experience
