ServiceNow Developer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a dedicated ServiceNow Developer to support homeland security mission outcomes based in Ashburn, VA. This position is a full‑time, hybrid role supporting a high‑impact federal customer environment. This role is critical in designing, building, and enhancing ServiceNow applications and integrations that align with DHS standards and FedRAMP requirements. As a ServiceNow Developer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering secure, scalable ITSM solutions, developing AI‑enabled capabilities, and supporting mission‑critical operations within a fast‑paced Agile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and configure ServiceNow ITSM and/or CRM modules to meet mission and operational requirements.
• Design and build workflows, dashboards, and integrations across ServiceNow and enterprise systems.
• Write clean, maintainable JavaScript using the Glide API, including:
  • Business Rules
  • Script Includes
  • Client Scripts
  • Scheduled Jobs
• Design, create, and extend ServiceNow data tables, database views, and GlideRecord queries.
• Implement and manage access controls for ServiceNow applications.
• Build and enhance AI capabilities using ServiceNow Virtual Agent and Now Assist.
• Configure and maintain Virtual Agent Designer solutions.
• Participate in user story grooming, refinement, estimation, and delivery within Scrum sprints.
• Troubleshoot incidents and problems, perform defect resolution, and execute performance tuning.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams and government stakeholders to deliver secure, mission‑aligned solutions.

Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret clearance and/or active DHS clearance (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline OR a minimum of three (3) years of relevant specialized experience.
• 3+ years of ServiceNow development experience.
• One or more ServiceNow Micro‑Certifications, including:
  • Virtual Agent Implementor
  • Delivery Accreditation – Now Assist for ITSM
  • Delivery Accreditation – AI Agents
• Proven experience designing, configuring, and implementing complex ServiceNow modules, workflows, and business rules.
• Hands‑on experience with Virtual Agent Designer.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical teams and government stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $120,000 - $140,000 depending on years of experience - including health, dental, and vision insurance. 401K, PTO, Paid Holidays, sick leave if required by law
