Senior Product Owner

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Product Owner to support our client. The Senior Product Owner / Platform Lead serves as the primary contractor authority for delivery, sustainment, and evolution of an enterprise Atlassian-based platform enabling Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and IT Service Management (ITSM) across a large DoD healthcare portfolio. Working in direct alignment with a Government Product Manager, this role leads end-to-end product execution while balancing operational service delivery and long-term platform modernization.

Responsibilities of the Senior Product Owner include:

·      Lead end-to-end delivery of an enterprise SDLC and ITSM platform, translating stakeholder needs into prioritized backlogs, user stories, and release-ready capabilities

·      Own Agile execution, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, prioritization of ITSM tickets and enhancements, and release coordination

·      Oversee ITSM operations and platform sustainment, ensuring incident, change, and service request management with accountability for SLA performance and system stability

·      Plan and execute platform enhancements and roadmap delivery aligned to DoD SDLC modernization initiatives and capability release timelines

·      Serve as the primary advisor to government stakeholders, aligning priorities across multiple programs and translating technical capabilities into mission outcomes

·      Lead and manage a team of approximately seven personnel supporting ITSM operations and platform enhancements

·      Ensure release governance and deployment readiness in coordination with systems engineering, test and evaluation, and infrastructure teams

Qualifications for the Senior Product Owner include:

·      5+ years of experience in product ownership, SDLC delivery, or platform management in enterprise or federal environments

·      Demonstrated experience leading Agile delivery, including backlog management, sprint execution, and release coordination

·      Strong understanding of the full SDLC lifecycle, including requirements development, testing, and deployment

·      Hands-on experience supporting ITSM operations (incident, change, and service request management)

·      Proficiency with Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management (JSM)

·      Proven ability to manage competing priorities and balance operational sustainment with platform enhancements

·      Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance

Compensation for the Senior Product Owner includes:

·      Salary Range: $130,000-$145,000 depending on experience
