Forward Deployed Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to support a company focused on deploying advanced Generative AI solutions within federal and defense environments. This position is remote, with a preference for candidates located in the DMV area, but open to remote employees nationwide. The Forward Deployed Engineer will serve as a technical bridge between customers and product teams, rapidly delivering production‑grade solutions that integrate AI capabilities into real‑world mission workflows.

Responsibilities for the Forward Deployed Engineer include:

• Partnering directly with customers to integrate a proprietary GenAI platform into existing business processes and mission workflows
• Building new features, enhancements, and custom functionality to address customer‑specific requirements
• Supporting deployments and initial configurations, providing hands‑on technical support
• Conducting proof‑of‑concept demonstrations and technical briefings to showcase platform capabilities and value
• Collaborating with product, engineering, and support teams to troubleshoot issues, document feedback, and drive continuous platform improvement

Required Qualifications for the Forward Deployed Engineer include:

• 5+ years of experience in full‑stack software engineering
• Proficiency in Python, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, MEAN stack development, Angular, Docker, CI/CD (GitLab), and API integrations
• Hands‑on experience with LLMs, NLP, GenAI technologies, cloud deployments (AWS GovCloud), and secure software development practices
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active Secret security clearance

Compensation for the Forward Deployed Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $140,000 – $200,000 depending on experience
