Electrical Engineer (mid-level)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer (mid-level) to support a company focused on sustaining and advancing aerospace, defense, and national security systems. This position is on-site at Berkeley, MO. The Electrical Engineer will support a Component Engineering team by evaluating electrical components, monitoring obsolescence risks, and developing mitigation strategies for critical systems. This is a mission‑driven opportunity to build long‑term expertise in DMSMS while contributing to programs that directly support U.S. national security.

Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer include:

• Evaluating electrical and electronic components and identifying alternate replacements for obsolete or at‑risk parts
• Performing proactive obsolescence forecasting using component surveillance tools, predictive systems, and supplier data
• Monitoring GIDEP alerts and preparing obsolescence status reports for engineering teams and government customers
• Developing obsolescence mitigation options and supporting business case analyses for recommended solutions
• Preparing and presenting technical materials on DMSMS risks, impacts, and resolution strategies to stakeholders

Required Qualifications for the Electrical Engineer include:

• 2-5 years of experience or an early‑career background in electrical or electronics engineering
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, transformers, connectors, and integrated circuits
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills with the ability to evaluate datasheets and technical documentation
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
• Active Secret security clearance required

Compensation for the Electrical Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $80,000–$105,000 depending on experience
