Substation Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Substation Engineer to assist with the EPMS design of a large data center development project. There will be minimal travel to job sites for site observations, client meetings, factory witness tests, etc.

Job Duties:

• Independently drive physical designs for electrical substations throughout design and construction phases (both new construction and upgrades/retrofits).
• Design high and medium voltage electrical distribution for large scale data center campuses.
• Work amongst a cross-discipline design team, owners, and contractors to develop drawings and specifications. 
• Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams and manufacturers.
• Major equipment selection and scheduling.
• Perform substation testing and commissioning as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in a relevant field
• 2+ years of Substation Engineering design experience designing high/medium voltage power distribution, physical design, and transmission design lines
• Strong understanding of electrical codes.
• Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit.

Compensation:

·      Hourly Rate: 52-60/hr
