Software Integration Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Integration Engineer to support a company focused on advancing next‑generation space‑based communications within the defense sector. This position is hybrid in Lanham, MD. The Senior Software Integration Engineer will integrate software components, modules, and third‑party libraries into a fully functional platform supporting mission‑critical space technologies. Responsibilities for the Senior Software Integration Engineer include:

• Performing hands‑on integration of firmware, embedded applications, and signal processing algorithms onto target hardware
• Developing and maintaining integration plans, procedures, and automated scripts for build and deployment
• Collaborating with software and systems engineering teams to define APIs and resolve integration dependencies
• Managing the integration environment including build servers, Git repositories, and CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshooting and debugging integration issues, performing root‑cause analysis, and implementing cross‑team solutions

Required Qualifications for the Senior Software Integration Engineer include:

• 5+ years of software integration, DevOps, or software engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or telecommunications
• Experience with Python, C/C++, Bash, Git, Jenkins/GitLab CI, and CI/CD environments
• Demonstrated expertise in embedded systems, RTOS, or software‑hardware integration
• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued security clearance

Compensation for the Senior Software Integration Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000 depending on experience
