Network Technician

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Technician to support our client on Hill AFB in Salt Lake City, UT. The Network Technician will provide enterprise‑level monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting for one of the world’s largest secure defense communication networks, ensuring reliable connectivity for military and federal mission partners.

Responsibilities of the Network Technician include:

• Monitor global network infrastructure including routers, switches, crypto devices, and voice/video systems
• Respond to network alarms, incidents, and outages within defined SLAs
• Perform initial triage and escalate issues to higher‑tier engineering teams
• Document actions, resolutions, and events in enterprise ticketing systems
• Collaborate with internal operations teams and external mission partners
• Support continuous 24/7/365 operations through rotating 8‑hour shifts
• Maintain compliance with federal security, configuration, and operational standards

Qualifications for the Network Technician include:

• Active Secret clearance
• DoD 8570 IAT II certification (Security+ CE) required prior to start
• 0–2 years (Entry), 3–5 years (Mid), or 5–7+ years (Senior) experience
• Experience working with routers, switches, crypto devices, and voice/video systems
• Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper platforms
• Ability to work rotating shift schedules in a 24/7 NOC environment
• Willingness to relocate to Hill AFB, UT (no relocation assistance)

Compensation for the Network Technician includes:

• Salary Range: $53,000-$84,000 depending on experience
