Information Systems Senior Manager

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an IT Systems Manager to support a company focused on transforming enterprise IT systems for federal agencies. This position is on-site in Washington, D.C. The IT Systems Manager will lead system professionals, oversee mission‑critical infrastructure, and drive continuous performance improvements. Join a team modernizing and securing the IT environment supporting the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration.

Responsibilities for the IT Systems Manager include:

• Managing systems professionals and providing leadership, coaching, and technical guidance
• Monitoring and enhancing system performance, reliability, and efficiency
• Overseeing security, accounts, workflows, and systems connectivity
• Administering schedules, performance requirements, and hiring activities
• Identifying technology opportunities and developing strategies to enhance IT systems

Required Qualifications for the IT Systems Manager include:

• 10+ years of related professional IT systems management experience
• Extensive hands-on experience with VMware virtualization; strong expertise with SAN/NAS storage and Commvault enterprise backup solutions
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments; strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), database systems (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL), IT security principles, ITIL frameworks, DevOps, SLA/OLA management, and service delivery practices
• Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent experience)
• Active Q or TS clearance, or ability to obtain a Q clearance within six months; U.S. Citizenship required

Compensation for the IT Systems Manager includes:

• Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000 **depending on experience**
