Network Security Architect (Remote - DHS Public Trust)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Security Architect with deep expertise in Palo Alto Prisma SASE to support the DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Program. This role focuses on designing and implementing Zero Trust security architectures that protect federal civilian networks and systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across Prisma platforms, modern network security frameworks, and automation technologies to deliver scalable, resilient cybersecurity solutions.

Work Environment:

Fully remote role supporting DHS cybersecurity initiatives across federal civilian agencies as part of the CDM Program.

Responsibilities:

• Design and architect secure network environments using Zero Trust principles, including ZTNA, SASE, SD‑WAN, and VPN alternatives.
• Lead implementation of Palo Alto Prisma technologies including Prisma Access, Prisma SD‑WAN, Prisma Cloud, and Strata Cloud Manager.
• Develop Zero Trust roadmaps and network security architectures across cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Automate security deployments and configurations using Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
• Implement advanced threat prevention capabilities such as DLP, SSL inspection, URL filtering, malware protection, sandboxing, and SaaS security controls.
• Communicate security architecture designs and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Support incident response, security analysis, and audits using Prisma analytics and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment to evolve enterprise security architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and training related to Prisma platforms and Zero Trust implementations.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS/CISA EOD Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience in network security architecture or engineering roles.
• Deep, hands‑on experience with the Palo Alto Prisma SASE suite and Zero Trust frameworks.
• Experience implementing SASE, ZTNA, SD‑WAN, and modern network security architectures.
• Proficiency with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical initiatives.
• CISSP certification preferred.

Compensation:

• Pay range: $170,000 - $190,000 (Based on years of relevant experience)
