Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician based in Falls Church, VA. This is a full‑time, onsite position. The Quality Control Technician will serve as a firm advocate for quality across all materials, components, assemblies, and production procedures. This role ensures that all products meet strict quality standards, enabling long‑term success and high customer satisfaction.*This is a temporary position expected to last between 6 - 12 months.*


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform receiving, in‑process, and final inspections on materials, components, hardware, and assemblies to ensure product compliance with customer purchase orders, engineering documentation, IPC standards, and all applicable quality requirements.
  • Interpret customer specifications, purchase orders, and blueprints to determine conformity requirements; conduct dimensional inspections using various measurement tools and inspection techniques.
  • Approve or reject raw materials based on quality standards and record supplier performance to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 standards.
  • Record, document, and manage non‑conforming material per established procedures; assist in determining root cause(s) and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Maintain open, effective communication with all departments to support strong quality performance metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying and contributing to process enhancements.
  • Follow proper material handling and packaging methods to prevent product damage; verify that inspection equipment is functional and calibrated.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and hard‑copy records of all work performed.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in a related field preferred; higher degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing quality experience.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing practices, inspection methodologies, and ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality management environments.
  • IPC trained or certified.
  • Hands‑on experience generating, completing, and submitting AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and follow‑up skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Compensation to include:

  • Salary Range: $55,000 – $75,000 **depending on experience**
  • Full Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if Required by Law
