Database Admin

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Database Admin to support a company focused on enterprise‑level data management, system performance, and mission‑critical infrastructure optimization for federal defense programs. This position is on‑site in Quantico, VA. The Database Admin will assist with SQL cluster support in Solar Winds, and various projects in support of the DBE team.

Responsibilities for the Database Admin include:

• Troubleshoot and resolve outdated or inefficient SQL queries used in reporting
• Optimize and maintain queries powering Microsoft Power BI dashboards
• Monitor database performance, availability, and system health
• Collaborate with infrastructure and analytics teams to ensure stable data platform operations

Required Qualifications for the Database Engineer include:

• 10+ years of experience with IT Experience
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, RDBMS technologies (SQL/Oracle), Windows Server backend, virtualization tools, and operating system deployment/patching tools
• Experience with SQL Queries, PowerBI Reporting
• Active Top Secret clearance
• IAT III Certification

Compensation for the Database Admin includes:

• Salary Range: $110,000–$130,000 depending on experience
