Senior Software Developer - Cleared

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Top Secret Clearance) to support a mission-critical defense program within the Navy and Marine Corps Sector. This role supports initiatives for the Department of the Navy (DON) and Department of War (DOW) focused on cyber operations, Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), situational awareness, and mission data systems. The Senior Software Developer will contribute to the design, development, integration, and lifecycle support of secure software platforms used across national security and defense technology environments.

Responsibilities for the Senior Software Developer include:

• Support full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities including design, development, testing, integration, and deployment
• Design and develop software applications supporting cyber operations and Maritime Domain Awareness systems
• Analyze technical and user requirements to build scalable software solutions and architectures
• Perform software testing, debugging, and enhancements to improve system functionality and performance
• Collaborate with engineering teams on systems integration, database development, and technical documentation
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers while supporting multiple defense programs

Qualifications for the Senior Software Developer include:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• 5+ years supporting Department of Defense or DOW programs
• Experience with SDLC methodologies, software architecture, and secure development practices
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
• Active DOW Top Secret Security Clearance required with ability to obtain SCI access

Compensation for the Senior Software Developer includes:

Salary Range: $169,604 – $229,464 depending on experience
