Network Communications Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Communications Engineer to support a long‑term program with the United States Marine Corps (USMC) focused on cyber and network operations. This position is fully on-site at Camp Lejeune, NC. The Network Communications Engineer will provide advanced network engineering, VoIP/VoSIP integration, and enterprise communications support across a complex DoD environment. Responsibilities for the Network Communications Engineer include:

• Provide engineering support for daily operations, LAN/BAN/WAN administration, troubleshooting, and network modernization
• Design, integrate, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), VoIP, VoSIP, and Secure Voice architectures
• Build and manage call manager clusters, dial plans, integrations with Unity & Presence, and VM-based voice systems
• Develop multivendor networking solutions using Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Fortinet technologies
• Support AD/LDAP integration, PKI two-factor authentication, DNS/DHCP, IP management, and IA-compliant network operations

Required Qualifications for the Network Communications Engineer include:

• 7+ years of IT experience with a strong focus on networking and enterprise communications
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco & Juniper networking, VoIP, VoSIP, VM management, call manager clusters, and dial plan administration
• Experience with CMS (Cisco Meeting Server), CUBE/Session Border Controllers, Fortinet firewalls, packet capture, network traversal, PSTN integration, and legacy VCS/Codian environments
• Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
• Active Secret Clearance
• Active IAT Level III certification (CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP/Associate, GCED, GCIH)

Compensation for the Network Communications Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $100,000 – $130,000 depending on experience
