Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deputy Project Leader to support our client in Manassas, VA. The Deputy Project Leader will support the execution of complex automation systems projects, working alongside the Project Leader to coordinate engineering teams, manage schedules, maintain documentation, and ensure highquality delivery across industrial, power, cybersecurity, and infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities of the Deputy Project Leader include:

·      Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing automation system projects

·      Support development of project plans, schedules, work breakdown structures, and deliverables

·      Monitor project progress, identify risks, and support issue resolution and change management

·      Coordinate daily activities of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors

·      Maintain project documentation, reports, status updates, and stakeholder communications

·      Support quality assurance efforts, inspections, and compliance with codes and industry standards

·      Assist with budget tracking, procurement coordination, and costoptimization efforts

·      Participate in technical discussions and help resolve engineering or system issues

Qualifications for the Deputy Project Leader include:

·      Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5–7 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3–5 years

·      Working knowledge of automation systems: switchgear, power distribution, metering, MCCs, and related technologies

·      Experience leading or coordinating crossfunctional engineering or technical teams

·      Proficiency with Primavera P6 (or equivalent CPM scheduling tools)

·      Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance

·      Strong analytical, problemsolving, and datadriven decisionmaking skills

·      Financial literacy and familiarity with project financial reporting

·      Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively

·      Project management certifications (PMP, CAP) preferred

Compensation for the Deputy Project Leader includes:

·      Salary Range: $110,000-$125,000 depending on experience
