TS/SCI Cleared Sr. Ground Segment Systems Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a TS/SCI Sr. Ground Segment Systems Engineer to join a premier federal contracting company based out of El Segundo, CA. The TS/SCI Sr. Ground Segment Systems Engineer is responsible for leading end‑to‑end systems engineering, integration, and acquisition oversight for Space Force ground segment and cloud‑based mission systems.

Responsibilities of the TS/SCI Sr. Ground Segment Systems Engineer include:

• Lead systems engineering for Space Force ground segment programs, including requirements definition, architecture, interface management, verification, and lifecycle analyses.
• Manage acquisition strategies and integration of cloud-based, DevSecOps‑driven software systems with multiple mission partners.
• Oversee technical requirements, interface negotiations, software backlogs, and CI/CD‑aligned development priorities to meet mission and system performance goals.
• Apply deep experience in space systems engineering, government acquisition, cybersecurity (Zero Trust), and modern software infrastructure while holding a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications for the TS/SCI Sr. Ground Segment Systems Engineer: 

• 10+ years of related experience
• BS in Engineering or related discipline
• Experience with special access program engineering support
• Experience with integration of ground segment systems including cloud-based infrastructure, PAAs baselines and antennas.
• Experience with Zero Trust cyber practices and implementation
• Top Secret clearance is required with ability to obtain SCI

Compensation for the TS/SCI Sr. Ground Segment Systems Engineer:

• Pay Rate: $160,000 - $200,000 *depending on experience and education*
