Senior Network Engineer - Secret Cleared

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support our client in Colorado Springs, CO. The Senior Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure in support of mission‑essential federal systems. This role will oversee network administration, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure the performance, availability, and security of large‑scale network environments.

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer include:

·      Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators

·      Monitor network performance and implement optimization strategies to improve throughput and reliability

·      Troubleshoot complex network issues using firewall logs, packet captures, and tools such as Wireshark while collaborating with cross‑functional teams

·      Conduct capacity planning and bandwidth management to support future growth and evolving mission needs

·      Integrate network infrastructure with cloud services, storage platforms, and other enterprise IT systems

·      Create and maintain documentation including configurations, diagrams, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides

·      Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers and support secure tenant network segments

Qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer include:

·      Active Secret clearance

·      U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship), required for federal suitability

·      Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience, or additional experience in lieu of degree

·      One of the following certifications: CCNP, CCDE, or CCIE (mandatory)

·      Ability to work fully onsite and remain within a commutable distance to Colorado Springs, CO

·      Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation supporting 24x7x365 mission system

Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer includes:

·      Salary Range: $160,000 – $185,000
