Pharmacist

Piper Companies is seeking a Pharmacist to join a growing healthcare team supporting North Carolina Medicaid beneficiaries located in Raleigh, NC. The Pharmacist will serve as a key clinical reviewer for pharmacy prior authorizations and ensure high‑quality, policy‑aligned determinations that directly support the mission of delivering exceptional service and care.

Responsibilities of the Pharmacist Include:

• Providing clinical expertise in reviewing and adjudicating pharmacy prior approval requests under North Carolina’s approved criteria, policies, and guidelines.
• Performing comprehensive clinical evaluations to assess appropriateness, safety, and compliance with NC DHB Outpatient Pharmacy criteria.
• Collaborating with a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure accuracy and timely prior approval determinations.
• Utilizing strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to interpret clinical information and facilitate clinical agreement when decisions require resolution.
• Working efficiently across multiple computer systems and digital workflows.

Qualifications for the Pharmacist Include:

• Registered Pharmacist (RPh/PharmD) licensed with the State of North Carolina (required).
• Education: PharmD, MD, or DDS.
• Experience: 8+ years of clinical pharmacy or prior authorization experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer systems, multi‑screen use, and clinical information systems.

Compensation for the Pharmacist includes:

• Hourly Pay/Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, and sick leave as required by law.
