Machine Learning Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and build scalable AI/ML solutions for a variety of mission-critical applications. This role is hybrid, on-site 2 days a week in Washington, DC (Navy Yard Metro Station).

Must be eligible to obtain a public trust clearance with the Department of Transportation

Responsibilities:

·      Design, build, and train machine learning systems and AI agents

·      Implement and develop Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems, and AI agent architectures/use cases

·      Deploy ML solutions, monitor performance, and test model accuracy and efficiency

·      Collaborate with data engineering teams to algin ML pipelines

·      Document artifacts, processes, and performance outcomes

·      Mentor junior team members

Requirements:

·      Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

·      5+ years of experience in ML engineering

·      Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, Databricks, PySpark, MLflow, etc.

·      Experience with AWS data infrastructure and DevOps workflows, S3, EC2, Lambda, SageMaker, etc.

·      Experience with deep learning techniques, LLMs, RAGs, AI Agents

Compensation:

·      $150,000-170,000 annual salary, depending on experience
