Systems Integration Engineer (TS/SCI)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a DoD Joint Fires Network in San Diego, CA. The team is seeking an individual with advanced expertise leading the design, development, and deployment of command-and-control capabilities.

Clearance: Active TS/SCI

Location: San Diego, CA (100% onsite)

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with customers to plan and execute system deployments and implementations.
• Apply strong systems engineering expertise across full system lifecycles.
• Lead system architecture and design efforts, producing all required engineering documentation and artifacts.
• Champion and integrate systems engineering best practices to drive program success.
• Develop technical content, guides, and tutorials to support product documentation.
• Create comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate analysis, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Continuously track emerging technologies and trends in automated testing, distributed databases, software‑defined networking, container orchestration, and DevSecOps.
• Possess working knowledge of distributed systems frameworks such as Hadoop, HBase/Accumulo, Spark, and Kafka.

Qualifications:  

• Active TS/SCI, ability to obtain CI Polygraph
• Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of systems implementation and engineering experience
• Experience with a variety of development tools to include:
  • Puppet
  • Ansible
  • Terraform
  • Bash
  • Powershell
  • Python
• Experience with software code development to automate run-time environment tools
• Experience maintaining, configuring, operating and troubleshooting complex electronic computer interface systems and network equipment
• Strong knowledge of security concepts, best practices and how to apply them (Secure Shell, public key encryption, certificates, data encryption)
• Experience with software sustainment guidance and software configuration management
• Experience supporting DoD and/or satellite system projects

Compensation:   

• Total compensation based on experience level - $160,000-$200,000+ **based on years of experience**
