Job Summary
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an AV Engineer to join our team on-site in Fayetteville, NC. The AV Engineer will join a collaborative, fast-paced engineering team responsible for shaping technical direction and design decisions across a portfolio of audio/visual (A/V) initiatives. This role focuses on architecting and delivering robust, scalable A/V and collaboration solutions that support mission-critical operations across multiple programs. The engineer will translate stakeholder requirements into high-level system architectures and detailed designs, ensuring solutions meet technical standards, performance expectations, and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive A/V system designs, including hardware and software architectures, for large-scale, resilient collaboration environments
- Produce detailed CAD drawing packages, including schematics, signal flows, and accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Design, test, and validate integrated A/V solutions such as videoconferencing systems, control platforms, displays, video walls, audio reinforcement, and streaming technologies
- Conduct site surveys and provide sales engineering support by gathering technical requirements, defining project scope, and generating system cost estimates
- Design, test, and troubleshoot networked systems supporting A/V technologies, including IP-based and telecommunications infrastructures
- Create and execute functional acceptance test plans, troubleshooting procedures, and deliver on-site user and administrator training for installed A/V systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of progressive experience
- Proven experience designing and implementing complex hardware and software solutions, including cost estimates, schedules, and work breakdown structures
- Strong background working with multidisciplinary teams and providing technical mentoring or coaching to junior staff
- Proficiency with A/V control platforms (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron), AutoCAD or similar drafting tools, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage directly with executive leadership and travel up to 20% as required
- Top Secret security clearance; candidates must be eligible for government security investigations
Compensation
- Pay Range: $110,000-$130,000 **depending on experience**
