Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking Experienced Engineers specializing in Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems Design and Analysis to join our Air Vehicle Engineering team. In this role, you will support modifications and upgrades for advanced aerospace programs, including airborne surveillance, bombers, and executive transport systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and document mechanical and fluid system requirements to establish system design.
- Maintain or modify system, component, and installation designs/proposals.
- Perform and document analyses to validate systems and components meet specifications.
- Support supplier development, testing, and production activities.
- Provide installation and detail documentation for system components.
- Train and mentor team members.
- Work under general direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years reading and interpreting engineering schematics and specifications.
- Project management experience in fast-paced environments.
- Hydraulic system analysis experience (MATLAB, FluidMaster, Easy5).
- 4+ years designing tooling using CAD/CAM software (preferably CATIA).
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of structural design principles for aircraft structures.
- Familiarity with engineering processes and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with Model-Based Development tools.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
- Level 3: 5+ years of experience with mechanical systems.
- 3+ years with hydraulic and/or mechanical control systems.
- 3+ years with aerodynamics/fluid mechanics principles.
- 1+ years in conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design (2D drawings & 3D deliverables).
- Level 3: Typically 5+ years of related work experience.
Compensation:
$88,000 - $119,000 (PTO, Paid Holidays, 401k plan, medical benefits)
