API Integration Manager

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced API Integration Manager to lead the strategy, optimization, and expansion of their enterprise API ecosystem. This is a high-impact opportunity for a MuleSoft-focused engineer or architect ready to step into a strategic technical leadership role.

This position requires 4+ days onsite in Hauppauge, NY. No relocation, C2C, or visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities of the API Integration Manager:

• Design and implement the credit union’s API strategy, roadmap, and governance framework aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead day-to-day operations of the API platform, including monitoring, issue triage, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization of API services.
• Architect, develop, and deploy scalable and secure MuleSoft-based integrations using Anypoint Platform, API Manager, DataWeave, and related technologies.
• Ensure all APIs adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory standards, including proactive risk mitigation and security monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with internal IT, business units, and third-party vendors to gather requirements and deliver tailored integration solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships, oversee deliverables, resolve escalations, and ensure technology partners meet performance expectations.
• Lead API enhancement initiatives, introducing new features, improving performance, and supporting broader digital transformation goals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across teams to promote best practices in API design and enterprise integration.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the API Integration Manager:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on MuleSoft integration experience (Anypoint Platform, API Manager, DataWeave, deployment, monitoring).
• Proven success designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure REST/SOAP APIs.
• Strong understanding of web services, API security, and modern integration patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Preferred:
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (Mule 4)
  • MuleSoft Certified Architect – Level 1 or higher
  • Additional certifications in cloud, DevOps, or API management tools

Compensation & Benefits

• $120,000 - $140,000 *DOE*
• Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k))
• Standard Monday–Friday schedule with 4+ days onsite in Hauppauge, NY
