Network Security Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA. The Network Security Engineer will provide architectural, technical, and problem-resolution support for network and security infrastructure, ensuring a secure and scalable environment aligned with federal security requirements.

Responsibilities of the Network Security Engineer include:

·      Design and implement secure network architectures across multiple domains

·      Administer and optimize Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama, and GlobalProtect solutions

·      Troubleshoot and resolve Tier III network and security issues

·      Review and recommend configuration changes for security compliance

·      Participate in system upgrades, deployments, and enhancements

·      Collaborate on Zero Trust and Prisma Access strategies

·      Support after-hours maintenance for outages and critical upgrades

Qualifications for the Network Security Engineer include:

·      10+ years of technical Network/Security Engineering experience

·      Extensive experience with Palo Alto Firewalls (3200 and 5200/5400/5600 series)

·      Expertise in Palo Alto Panorama (9.x and above) and GlobalProtect

·      Strong knowledge of Threat Protection, URL filtering, TLS decryption, PKI, and PCAPS

·      Experience with application-based traffic and firewall design (internal/perimeter/external)

·      Familiarity with Palo Alto Prisma Access and Zero Trust Network Access

·      Desired certifications: CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, CISSP, OSCP, PCNSE, PCNSA, ITIL

·      Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance

Compensation for the Network Security Engineer includes:

·      Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
