Lead Testing Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Lead Testing Engineer for a leading technology integration located in El Segundo, CA. The Lead Testing Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test plans, defining test requirements, and overseeing all aspects of system testing to ensure quality and performance across space and ground systems. This position will be on-site in El Segundo, CA five days per week!

Responsibilities of the Lead Testing Engineer include:

• Develop and maintain program test strategies, plans, scenarios, and requirements, ensuring proper documentation in both contractor deliverables and government records.
• Collaborate with development contractors to align test objectives with applicable standards, guidelines, and policies.
• Coordinate with government test agencies to design effective test methodologies that meet program expectations and stakeholder requirements.
• Lead and actively participate in test working groups to plan, review, and resolve test-related issues.

Qualifications for the Lead Testing Engineer include:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 14+ years of relevant experience, including:
  • Technical programs, systems engineering, and test policy/execution for large-scale space and ground systems or new technical demonstration initiatives.
  • Test planning and development of documentation.
  • Test requirements definition and management.
  • Development of test engineering processes and tools.
  • Department of Defense Test & Evaluation practices.
• Active security clearance with an in-scope background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility, and enrollment in Continuous Evaluation (if applicable).
• Willingness to be nominated for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP), and consent to a polygraph examination.
• ITEA Certified Test & Evaluation Professional or INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) credentials are highly desirable but not required.

Compensation for the Lead Testing Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000
