Jr. Cloud Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Jr. Cloud Engineer to support a DISA program at Fort Meade, MD. This is a fully on-site role. The perfect candidate will work to modernize an existing Human Resources platform across Azure and AWS environments to enhance infrastructure. This role requires experience in automation and securing system integration in DoD environments. An Active Secret Clearance is required for consideration to this opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services across Azure and AWS platforms.
• Implement automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) to support efficient cloud operations.
• Manage virtual networks, compute, and storage resources to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Collaborate with system and security teams to ensure compliance with DoD cloud security standards and FedRAMP requirements.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and configuration management.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud environment issues, ensuring system reliability and resilience.
• Support migration of applications and data from on-premises systems to cloud environments.
• Document architectures, processes, and configurations in alignment with DISA and DoD guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field
• Active Secret Clearance
• 4+ years of experience in cloud engineering or systems administration
• Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS infrastructure and services
• Strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architecture
• Familiarity with DoD Cloud Computing SRG and related compliance frameworks
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)

Compensation:

• $100,000 - $114,000 *depending on years of experience*
• Health, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401K, Holidays, Sick Leave if required by Law
