Platform Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Platform Engineer to join a cutting-edge team focused on building and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about Kubernetes-based architectures, Infrastructure as Code, and supporting distributed microservice environments.

Responsibilities of the Platform Engineer include:

• Design, implement, and maintain platform infrastructure leveraging Kubernetes-based architecture.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or similar tools.
• Collaborate with software teams to support distributed microservice capabilities using Python.
• Integrate and manage monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, and AWS CloudWatch.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components including VPNs, NLB/ALBs, HTTPS, TLS, and CDN.
• Operate within Unix/Linux environments to ensure platform stability and performance.

Qualifications for the Platform Engineer include: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in platform engineering or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Terraform (or equivalent IaC tools).
• Experience with Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
• Solid understanding of networking principles and security protocols.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.

Compensation for the Platform Engineer include: 

• Salary Range: $120,000-185,000 **depending on experience** 
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
